Syver O. Vold, 77, died at his son's home. Mr. Vold was the CountyRecorder 24 years. Syver died on Monday morning at the home of hisson, Stanley, 1202 Second Avenue N. where he made his home in recentyears. The funeral is Wed. at 2:00 p.m. at 1st Lutheran church withThe Rev. J.O. Tweeten officiating. The burial will be at 1st LutheranCemetery. Pallbearers: Clarence Huus, Ernest Gunderson, Louis Mostrom,Laurence Thompson and Helmer Harmon all of Northwood, and Otto E.Gunderson of Forest City, Iowa.
Syver was born on March 20, 1874 in Brookfield Twp. to Ole HalgrimsonVold and Brynhild E. Gandrud. He was baptized on May 3, in the SilverLake Lutheran Church. He was married on April, 1901 to Emma Hagen whodied in March of 1934. Three sons were born to the couple: Arndt ofChicago, Stanley, of Northwood, and Benhard, now deceased. Survivorsinclude 1 grandson, Dennis Vold Talle in the Navy
and granddaughter, Mrs. Arthur Hanson (formerly Marilyn Vold Talle) ofMinneapolis, and one great granddaughter, Cynthia Hanson ofMinneapolis. Syver was educated in the public schools of Kensett andgraduated from St. Ansgar Seminary at St. Ansgar, Iowa. He served asthe county recorder for Worth County from January 1, 1911 to January1, 1935. He also served the Independent School District at Northwoodand First Lutheran Church as treasurer. Also surviving are twobrothers, Carol and Knut Vold of Northwood. Preced in death by threesisters, and three brothers, Mrs Olaf Brunsvold, Mrs. Peter Hanson,Anna Vold, Halgrim, Ebvrick and Truls Vold.
