Note: N4562 ENTRY #42: TRULS HALGRIMSEN, born 29 December 1835 / baptized 24January 1836; witnesses were Ingeborg, Ole and Margit Wold, Ole Wiig,& _____. Buskerud county, Nes, Parish register (official) nr. 9 (1834-1863),Birth and baptism records 1836, page 58. http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:kb_read?idx_kildeid=1110&idx_id=1110&uid=ny&idx_side=-59 http://www.arkivverket.no/URN:NBN:no-a1450-kb20051114010717.jpg From Loren Johnson, researcher in Minnesota: Research findings: Truls was a Civil War Vet. I made a cc of the 1865 census to showthat Truls might have been written as Louis Halgrimson. Louis had awife by the name of Caroline. I then made a cc of the 1870 censusshowing a Carrie (short for Caroline) lliving with two daughters, Annaand Rachel. Anna was born after the 1865 census and Rachel would havebeen born the year that Truls died. Carrie and the girls are livingnext to the John Hellerud family. Suggestions: I would get the pension records for Truls HalgrimsonVold from the National Archives. If Carrie was like one of myancestors, she applied for the pension for herself and children. Theyprobably kept track of her until her death. My major goal in trying to locate descendants of these folks is toprovide them with a gift of our family history. You have done a greatjob. The four Volds with Halgrim or H. as a middle name are the ones thatcount. They are the sons of Halgrim Vold. Therefore, they would allhave the middle initial H. or the name Halgrimsson. Seaver (or Sever) was b. abt. 1820. Seaver Halgrimson did immigrateabt. 1855. You let me know that he went to Wheeling Township andmarried Christine. He died in 1870 and his wife remarried. He had ason by the name of Halgrim (and his middle name would have beenSeverson). You told me that Halgrim (Severt's son) died in 1884. Wedon't know if Halgrim left a family. Truls H. Vold, born December 29, 1835 in Fl?, Buskerud County , Norwaydied on November 21, 1867 in Rice County, Minnesota. You pointed meto the cemetery records. He was buried in Valley Grove Cemetery, #42. I could not ascertain if Truls left a family. Of the sons of Halgrim Severson Vold and Anna Savre: there were fivechildren. One stayed in Norway. Ole Halgrimson Vold went to WorthCounty, Iowa. He was my great grandfather. Ole H. was the father of Gunhild (Ole's dtr.) Vold who married Peder Hanson (who may have had aname that started with a T.) That is wonderful detective work! Theother Severt Volds may well be children of either Truls or Severt. Margit Halgrimsdtr. Vold ( who married John Hellerud) was a sister toSever, Truls, and Ole. I am so grateful for the information; I wouldbe most happy to pay for your helpfulness. If you find any records of descendants of these people, I would loveto know about it. I know that Gunhild (Ole's dtr. Vold) had two daughters, Olga andLaura Hanson. You have now told me her marriage date: September 17,1891. This means that most likely her daughters were born abt.1892-1900. If, they were married, they would have been married abt.1915-20. Their children could possibly still be alive. If so, they would possibly know aboutthe others living in Minnesota. Kind regards and heaps of praise and thanksgiving.
