Vold, 85, who died at home on Thursday from a stroketwo weeks earlier. Conner Funeral Home is in charge. Pallbearers areStanley and Irving Vold, Lawrence and Bennie Brunsvold, Howard Bakkenand Whitney Randall. Buried at 1st lutheran Cemetery. Halgrim O. Vold was born near Nerstrand, Rice County, Minnesota onJune 22, 1842, the of Ole Halgrimson Vold and Brynhild E. Gandrud, whoemigrated from Hallingdal, Norway, 1861. He was baptized at Nerstrandin 1861, confirmed by the Rev. Ole Nilsen in 1979 at services in theschoolhouse in Brookfield Twp., Worth County, Iowa, located near thepresent Lobben farm. The Elk Creek Church was not built until later. Halgrim moved with his family to Brookfield Twp., 1872, where he livedon the same farm until the fall of 1917, when the family moved toNorthwood. His education was in the public schools of Worth County,Iowa. He was married on September 1, 1892 at Elk Creek Church to OlineTrustem. The Rev. L. O. Pederson performed the marriage. Fivechildren were born to them. Four of them died. He was preceded indeath by Otto, Herman, Hannah, and Eldora. Survivors include hisdaughter, Clara, now Mrs. Henry J. Peterson of Northwood, threechandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was a member of ninechildren, five brothers and three sisters. The brothers are Embrik ofKensett, Truls, Syver, Carl, and Knut all of Northwood. Sisters, AnnaVold, Mrs. Peter Hanson and Mr. O. L. Brunsvold preceded him in death.He was a member of First Lutheran Church.
