a. Note:   Found an Eli L. Ford listed as a Private in Company B, 104th New York Inf. He is listed as a deserter. He is listed as "Wanted" in Wayne County newspaper. He was never captured, and apparently (according to pension records) reinlisted and served as "Jacob Butler." Eli had an uncle William Ford in Ashtabula, OH. See William's will.
