Note: a went to Chicago around 1900. The family recieved a letter saying she had arrived there, and then never heard from her again. Family members went to Chicago to look for her, but found nothing. They believe she was taken by "white slavers." Genevieve Johnson told family members that she met Sofia as a child just before she left for Chicago. She said that Sofia was a typical young Swedish girl with blonde hair and blue eyes.
