a. Note:   It was believed in the William H. Ward family that she was of Indian descent, since she also used the name "Telitha Ecumanee." However, there is no
 evidence of any Indian ancestory in the records. There is a Bible verse,
 Mark 5, verse 41 which refers to Talitha Cumi and says that it translates
 "Little girl, I say to you arise." Whether this has any relevance to the
 name she used later in life may never be known.
  Talitha Smith is found living with Ella Mapes in the 1930 Census. Ella is living on Front Street in LaRue, Marion County, OH (Sheet 5-B).
