My BLACKWOOD/ROBERTSON Family connections to my KENDRICK line. I believe there are some HALE connections that I am not aware of. I show a HALE connection to my BIBLE/BIEBEL Family in Tennessee. Christopher Christian HALE/HAILE (1790, ? -- 1858, IN) m Mary Polly BIBLE in 1811, Greene Co., TN. I am attempting to locate the connection between my BLACKWOOD family in MS to the HALE line. It seems that children with the surname BLACKWOOD were living in the households of some of the HALE families in MS in the 1800's. Here's
the situation; John Casey BLACKWOOD (abt 1805, ? -- ??) m Arthmencey ?? They had six children; 3 girls and 3 boys (I don't know their names). I show a 1845 Mississippi State Census including John C. BLACKWOOD. I also show a JOHN C. BLACKWOOD as JP in Tippah Co., MS on deeds in 1841. I can't locate anything about him after 1845.
I do, however, find BLACKWOOD children in the 1850 census, the older four children resided in the household of A. C. HALE while the younger child resided in the household of Shadrack HALE in Yalobusha Co., Miss. I show a granddaughter of Almond C. HALE, Mary Ann HALE (born abt 1838, TN) m John Jefferson WHISENHUNT (born abt 1833, GA). John Jefferson's sister, Mary Elizabeth (born abt 1852, AR) m William Boone BLACKWOOD (grand nephew of John Casey BLACKWOOD).
I show Nicholas CHENOWTH (1773, MD -- 1851, ?) m Ruth HALE (d/o Richard HAILE & Anne ?) Their son Joseph m Lydia BEAN (this line connects to my ROBERTSON/BLACKWOOD Family). Nicholas' sister, Elizabeth, m Thomas HALE (I have no dates or family connection for him). Ruth's sister, Rebecca (abt 1779, VA - abt 1859, KY) m James BILLINGSLEY (first cousin to John BILLINGSLEY m Martha LACKWOOD - believed to be the aunt of John Casey BLACKWOOD, no proof at this time). James BILLINGSLEY'S sister, Sarah Ann (1773, NC -- 1854, TN) m Alexander HAILE (1758, MD -- 1862, TN). His sister, Mary (?? - died abt 1836, TX) m George William HAILE (abt 1790, TN -- 1841, TX).
Please excuse any errors, as I have not verified all of this information myself. I hope this isn't too confusing. I would like to solve the mystery to this HALE/BLACKWOOD connection.
Thanks for any information you can supply,
 Linda Cashen Gaunt
