Continued: Santa Cruz Sentinel, Monday, January 21, 1980 John Edgar Britschgi Services will be Tuesday for John Edgar Britschgi, who died Sunday ina local hospital. He was 85. A native of Switzerland, he had been a Santa Cruz resident since 1972. Prior to coming here, he had been a teacher at San Jose State for 17 years and had owned and operated his own auto electric business in San Jose. He was a member of Masonic and Scottish Rite Lodges of San Jose. Survivors include his wife, Ruth J. Britschgi of Santa Cruz, adaughter, Bonnie Paul of Santa Rosa; two brothers, Walter Britschgi of SantaCruz and Werner Britschgi of Redwood City; a cousin, Hedwig Roedel of Santa Cruz; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services will be at Wessendorf and Holmes Funeral Chapel, 223 Church St., Tuesday at 11 am with the Soquel Masonic Lodge 746 F&AM officiating. Private cremation will be at the Soquel Crematory with ashes to be scattered at sea.
