From Pocahontas take Highway 67 South to the county line; turn East (left) onto Lawrence County Road 416, go one mile, turn left and proceed 1/2 mile; turn right and proceed to Duty Cemetery. The cemetery is located in Randolph County. Duty Cemetery was surveyed by Lee & Betty Tucker on 17 August 2000. Additions and corrections are welcomed. Duty Cemetery Association members are Corene Sellers, Ronnie Sellers, Gary Overstreet, Dick Poindexter, Tom Stroud and Lonie Gipson. It was originally named Benton County in honor of Thomas Hart Benton. The county seat was established in Jacksonville in 1833. On January 29, 1858, the name was changed to Calhoun County in honor of John C. Calhoun (South Carolina). The county seat was moved to Anniston in 1899.
