Notes
a. Note:   OBITUARY. The Shelby Sun, Shelby, Nebraska. November, 1969 Nina Nellie INNESS, daughter of John and Rebecca INNESS, was born on a farm south of Shelby, Nebraska, on August 7, 1882, and died in Lincoln, Nebraska on October 29, 1969. She resided on her parents' farm with her parents, two sisters and three brothers until womanhood. On June 8, 1909 she was united in marriage to William MCKEAG, who passed away in 1960. To them three daughters were born, Margaret (Mrs. John HOSSACK) of Wilmette, Illinois, Lucille (Mrs. Harry DEFRENE) of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Marilyn (Mrs. Gordon FREDRICKSON) of Osceola, Nebraska, and one son, Nean, of Osceola, Nebraska. Until 1951 her years were spent with the family on a farm where home was the center of her life. Since 1953 Mrs. MCKEAG has resided in Osceola. She was a life-long member of The United Methodist Church, the Women's Society of Christian Service and the W.C.T.U. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, friend and neighbor. On a table beside her rocking chair her Bible was always found. Many favorite passages were marked by her for special attention. She is survived by her four children, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. One of her favorite Bible verses was Psalm 73:24: "Thou wilt guide me with thy counsel and afterward receive me into glory." God nothing does, nor suffers to be done But thou would do thyself couldst thou but see The end of all events as well as He. Henceforth, my own desire shall be That He, who knows one best, shall choose for me. And so, what e'er His love seems fit to send I'll trust it best, because He knows the end." Rev. Richard Odgers was in charge of the funeral service held Saturday afternoon, November 1, at the United Methodist Church in Osceola. Mrs. Maurine Schuman was organist and Mrs. Ceva Carlson, the soloist, sang "How Great Thou Art" and "Abide With Me". Escorts were Larry HOSSACK, Stephen FREDRICKSON, Edward CARLSON, Howard MCKEAG, James MCKEAG Jr., and John INNESS. Interment was in Graceland Cemetery at Shelby.
