Note: [The information below came from the FamilySearch Website. I have not been able to prove all of the information is correct. Joseph's age in most of the census show that he was probably born closer to 1864 than 1860.Also the death dates are probably correct. Joseph and Margaret were living in the Blackstone area on Nottoway Rd. in 1930] FamilySearch International Genealogical Index Family Group Record Husband Joseph HALTERMAN Birth:08 MAY 1860(64), Rockingham, Virginia Marriage:02 DEC 1887, Rockingham, Virginia Death:11 NOV 1935Blackstone, Nottoway, Virginia Wife Margaret Alice DOVE Birth:MAR 1874, Rockingham, Virginia Marriage:02 DEC 1887, Rockingham, Virginia Death:03 AUG 1942Blackstone, Nottoway, Virginia Children 1.Sidney Elmer HALTERMAN Male Birth:30 JUL 1890Dovesville, , Hardy, West Virginia Death:18 JAN 1953Loma Linda, , Orange, California 2.Moses HALTERMAN Male Birth:About 1893Dovesville, , Hardy, West Virginia Death:After 1930 3.Bertha HALTERMAN Female Birth:About 1898Dovesville, , Hardy, West Virginia Death:After 1930 =================================================================== Some researchers on the internet have George Halterman as the father of Joseph but I don't believe that is a true fact. There was not a child living with Noah whose name was George. There was a George Halterman, age 30, living with Noah in 1870 .He was listed as blind and insane.Joseph and another grandson named Charles Cooper were also living with Noah in 1870 and with Mary in 1880. George was not living in the household of Mary in 1880. My theory is that either Henry or Milton Halterman was the father of Joseph. =============================================================== 1870 > WEST VIRGINIA > HARDY > LOST RVR TWP Series:M593 Roll:1688 Page:32 July 30,1870 Halterman, Noah 56 Farmer ---------------,Mary 57 Keeping house ---------------,Florence 30 At home --------------,Irena 21 ---------------,Noah 18 Laborer --------------,Montgomery 14 Laborer --------------,Joseph 7 Cooper, Charles 2 Halterman, George 40 Blind and Insane ================================================================== 1880 > WEST VIRGINIA > HARDY > LOST RVR Series: T9 Roll: 1403 Page: 89 Household: Name Relation Gender Race Age Birthplace Occupation Mary HALTERMAN Self Female W 66 VA Keeping Hou Florence HALTERMAN Dau Female W 42 VA Without Occupation Irena HALTERMAN Dau Female W 29 VA Without Occupation Jos.
