Some researchers on the internet have George Halterman as the father of Joseph but I don't believe that is a true fact.There was not a child living with Noah whose name was George. There was a George Halterman,age 30, living with Noah in 1870 .He was listed as blind and insane.Joseph and another grandson named Charles Cooper were also living with Noah in 1870 and with Mary in 1880. George was not living in the household of Mary in 1880. My theory is that either Henry or Milton Halterman was the father of Joseph.
