a. Note:   years old, Grandview, MO, died Feb 23rd, 1988, at the home. He was born in Hazard, KY,in1928 and moved to Tennessee with his family after his father, Harry Edward, Sr., died. He entered the Air Force before graduating from high school and servedas an electronics specialist. After a short enlistment in the Air Force, Robert returned to Tennessee where he married Mary Marie Stephens on June 10, 1950 in Harriman. Then Robert, Sr. enlisted in the US Army where he served as a radarspecialist for Air Defense Artillery units throughtout the world. Warrant Officer Hamlett retired from the US Army in Oct, 1968 in Grandview, MO. He receivednumerous awards and citations during his service to include the Legion of Merit. Robert L. Hamlett Sr and Mary Marie Hamlett had two children; Robert Lee, Jr.,(born in Harriman, TN) and Patricia Marie (born in Stuttgart, Germany). He and Mary Marie divorced in 1971 and Robert, Sr., married Mariette Lariniere Bernard the following year. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Ararat Shrine. Interment was at Leavenworth National Cementary, Leavenworth, Kansas. Survivors include his wife, Mariette Hamlett, of the home; a son, Robert L. Hamlett, Jr., Kingston, TN; a daughter, Patricia Marie Thomas, Murfreesboro, TN; a brother, Thomas P. Hamlett, Rockwood, TN; three sisters, Margaret Cunningham, Philadelphia, PA; Virginia Goldston, Harriman, TN; and Myra Halburnt, Oliver Springs, TN.
