Note: Source: Unless otherwise stated, information is from missionary records held at the American Board of Missions headquarters in Istanbul, Turkey. United with church at age 16 in Palmyra, NY. Appointed missionary of the Board December 1844. Sailed from Boston 25 Feb 1845. Arrived Smyrna Apr 19 and Constantinople 28 Apr 1845. Died in 1857. Started a school for girls in Pera. Later it was moved to Bebek. Two years after death of the first Mrs. Hamlin, Harriet married Cyrus Hamlin and bore him two children. Between May of 1856 and February of 1857, Mrs. Hamlin and her children stayed in Hask�y near friends while her husband took his older daughters to America to find schools for them. In November of 1857, she died from what seemed to be merely a slight cold
