According to book "Under Five Sultans: New York: The Century Co., 1929, page 167" by Mary Mills Patrick, Clara H. Hamlin, scholar and linguist, appointed with Mary Mills Parick to replace Kate Pond Williams as Director of American Women's School in Scutari (now Uskudar, Turkey) about 1885. Married some time later and left school.
