KY Easter HANKS, 69, b. N.C. _________________________________________________________________ Sources: Craig A. Whitfield, 315 Miami Club Drive, Mishawaka Indiana 46544. He is a descendent of Robert Mansfield Hanks and his son John Price Hanks. All of the information on the line of John Price Hanks is from his research. He corrected all the mistaken information in Baber's book. Adin Baber's book, HANKS OF VIRGINIA AND WESTWARD ======================================================== UpDATE: 9/2/99 Info from Larry Johnston, also a descendant of JP Hanks. Info on JP Hanks child, Ellen Loretta Hanks, m. Sam Johnston was received from him. ======================================================== 1850 & 1860 & 1870 Hopkins Co. Kentucky Census Records (Phebe was not listed in the 1870 Census with Robert Mansfield; it is assumed she died between 1863-1870 as the last child was born in 1863.) Johnson Co. Illinois Marriage Records. Obituaries of John Price Hanks and wife Isabelle Hanks. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I received a file from Hilda Ann Fox in January 1999 in which she says that Robert Mansfield Hanks married Mary Ann Miller, the daughter of Fredrick P. Miller and Mary Durell July 3, 1859 in Hopkins Co. Kentucky. She records a birthdate for R. M. H. as January 15, 1820, but records I have show that he was born March 17, 1829. Craig Whitfield sent me a picture of his gravestone which says 1829-1917. She also says they married July 3, 1859, but that she died June 1859. This is not possible. She also says that R.M.H. married Martha Almon on May 15, 1843 in Hopkins Co., Ky. I have no record of this marriage. When considering the 1860 Census record above, dated August 20, one would think that Hilda's information is incorrect. I have not inquired of Hilda Fox about this information because she became offended when I asked her a question about another date discrepency.
