TN yet. : : Went ot the Johnson, Dobbs, Lenoir Co. grantor deed index and found Thomas : and Lazarus Gatlin involved in land transations as late as 1779-1784. That : was in Book 12, and the last book listed. There were also a number of land : transactions between John Hanks and various Roach men. : : John Hanks started showing up on the index in Bood 8 , april 1769-Apr 1771, : but was not listed in Book 12. Tho Ephaphroditus Hanks was listed as selling : land to Brittle Fielder in that book. But the fact that he was counted in : the Wayne Co. census in 1790 could account for that - he obviously left the : area between 1784 and 1790. : : Looks like John Hanks's transactions were all between 1769 and 1779. : Have been up a long time. Think I'll go take a nap. : Joanne :
