  The 1920, Wisconsin Census reports that Nicholas pays rent for his home. The birth of Mary's parents is listed as Germany. The family consists of Nicholas and Mary children: Emma, Joseph, Mary, Clara, Eleanor, Gaylord, and Rose. Two additional children were deceased by 1920. The family farmed between the estates of the Moy and Seick farms in 1900. Also found near was the Bird family.

The birth took place at 9 PM. Wed. Mar. 30, 1880 in Verona, Dane Cty. Wi. Verona Town was the location of the county poor farm.
