Notes
a. Note:   Henry Adams came to America with his parents. He was town clerk of Braintree in 1640. Around 1648, he moved to Dedham (later Medfield), where he became the first town clerk. He was a representative of the town in 1659, 1665, 1674, and 1675. He was a lieutenant in the militia, and was killed at his own door by the Native Americans during King Phillip's War. His wife, who was at the fortified house of Rev. Wilson, was mortally wounded the same night, though she lingered for a week before she died.
