Note: Harriet Adelaide's mother Harriet died when she was only 6 1/2 and her younger brother only 2. When her father remarried, he and his new wife did not keep the two children. Gardner vanished, but I found Adelaide Ashley, age 12 in the 1860 Census. She was living with Phoebe Ashley, age 22, in Thetford, Orange Co., Vt. She married in 1868.
