1. Title:   Martin Harris & Diana Harris

Notes
a. Note:   On 1850 USC OH Putnam Jennings (p.7 or 8 A.C) with wife Ann. They are living next to or with there son William Henry & family(wife Margaret & 7 issue). Also, their youngest son lives very close with his wife Avy and 6 yr old son John H. Harris. These 2 families appear on page 8.
1810 USC NY Genesee Co. Riga lists a Thadious Harris with 4 males less than 10 and 1 male between 26-45 and also 1 female less than 10 and one female between 26-45. This may very well be this family.
It is said that Thaddeus m. Anna Wallen and that they lived and had 3 children (Squire,Horace,& Wm) in CT. Not known for sure where but likely Hartford or New Hartford CT. It is not known when this family moved to NY but seems likely before 1810.
The next children are born in NY but there is a long time between the 3rd and 4th . . from 1803 to 1813. This is like 10 years and there is no explanation for it. It is possible that the 1st 3 children b. in CT were with a different wife and that he met Anna in CT (with the same NY connection) m. her and moved to NY. But even if this were so and they moved to NY before 1810 why did they wait until 1813 to have a child . . or were there one or two children that did not survive?
There are documents that Thaddeus Harris was in the War of 1812. There are 2 documents: the Company Pay Roll & the Company Muster Roll.
The pay roll has the date Dec 21 1813 with explanation "to explain of service." This roll is dated Mar 22,1814. Commenencement of service is Jan 25,1814. The expiration of service is Mar 26,1814. Term of service is computed to be 2 months and 2 days. At $8.00/month it comes out that he gets $16.51. It states that his residence is 87 miles or 4 days away.
The muster roll has the same dates of service from Jan 25 to Mar 26,1814. In addition has written out Contonment Willims Ville Niagara Frontiers. There is a remark "Allowed 4 days to return home."
Thaddeus and family moved from NY to Putnam Co, Jackson TWP, in 1823 where he wa elected the first justice of the peace of Jackson TWP. He located within a mile of Fort Jennings. In 1839 he moved to Kalida but returned to Fort Jennings, where his wife died.
