Note: oma, USA Death: 2006-09-01 Residence: Madison, Alabama, USA Publication: 2010-07-15 in Huntsville, Alabama, USA Marjorie B. Burchfield, 85, of Madison died Friday at Madison Manor. Marjorie was born in Sulphur, Okla., and had been a resident of Huntsville since 1959. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Madison and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. She was retired from AMCOM and was a former president of the Madison County Republican Women's Club. Marjorie was extremely proud of her ancestral Native American, Cherokee, heritage through her grandmother and family that came to the Oklahoma territory on the "Trail of Tears." She was preceded in death by her husband, George Mark Burchfield; parents, Anna and Leonard Birch; brothers, Jack and Raymond Birch; and sisters, Helen Lemmons and Loma Duer. Survivors include two daughters, Georgia Bramlett and husband, Kenneth, and Patricia Walters and husband, Joseph; one son, Stanley Knight and wife, Madelyn; two sisters, Billie Holdridge and Ann Birch; two brothers, Bob Birch and Benny Birch. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Mark Bramlett, wife Sondra, Steve Bramlett, wife, Maria, Stephanie Walters and Shannon and Grant Knight and seven great-grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be at St. John's Catholic Church in Madison at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday with Father Sexton officiating. Burial will follow at Huntsville Memory Gardens.
