 Obit. published in Kirkintilloch Herald 28th June 1911:
 "On Monday the remains of Mr William Hamilton were interred in Campsie Parish churchyard. The deceased was the last of old established firm Messrs Hamilton and Sons boot and shoe makers. Several years ago he was appointed registrar for the parish of Campsie which duties he carried through in a thorough and business like manner. He had been of failing healthfor some time and his death took place at his residence, Burnside Cottage, on Friday morning. He leaves a widow and a large family to mourn hisloss, and to whom, as well as his many friends, the sympathy of the community goes out on their sad bereavement."
