Note: Obituary: Mary Inez McNeal, 79, of rural Aledo, died Monday, March 2, 1992, at Mercer County, Hospital, Aledo. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo, Rev. Claude Moreland officiating. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery, Millersburg. She was born Oct. 23, 1912, in Joy, the daughter of Hamilton and Ethel Mae Sperlin Epperly. She attended the local Joy schools, graduated from Aledo High School and attended Moline Public Hospital School of Nursing. She married Lee McNeal Nov. 21, 1934, in Rock Island. She and her husband farmed in Duncan Township, north of Millersburg. She was fomerly employed by the Mercer County Hospital as a nurses aide and was a sales representative for Avon Products Company. She was a member of Neighborhood Card Club, Mercer County Senior Citizens Center, American Association Retired People, and a former member of the Home Extension Association. She enjoyed reading, fishing and playing cards with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Ilene Tracy of Dodge City, KS and Mary Lee Swank of Aledo; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ethel Hays of Aledo. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one grandchild.
