Note: Will and Bessie and their boys enjoyed going to dances and house partys. People would roll up the rugs and invite the neighbors in to dance. 1969 Obituary: Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie M. McNeal, 79, of Route 3, Aledo, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Olin Funeral Home in Joy with the Rev. L.L. Newell, pastor of the Baptist Church at Marston, officiating. Burial was in the Millersburg Cemetery. Mrs. McNeal died at 8:25 a.m. on Sunday, June 15, at her home following an extended illness. She was born February 23, 1890 in New Boston, the daughter of Walter S. and Emily Hallsted Fuller. She attended school in Macomb and taught school for a year prior to her marriage to William McNeal on December 8, 1909 in Joy. The couple moved from Joy to Duncan Township in 1920. She was member of the New Boston Christian Church. Surviving are her husband, two sons, Lee of Aledo and Burr of Moline.
