Notes
a. Note:   Obituary: "Early Tuesday morning, the Angel of Death entered the Epperly home and claimed the husband and father, Hamilton H. Epperly, the son of William and Mary Braucht Epperly. He was born in Duncan Township April 18, 1867, and when death claimed him he was 64 years, six months and nine days. He was married to Ethel Mae Sperlin, October 24, 1899. To this union were born three children, George W., who resides near his father's home; Ethel and Inez at home. Hammie has spent his entire life in Duncan Township and lived for the past 25 years on the farm where he passed away. As a husband and father, Hammie always carried the thought of his family. Nothing gave him greater pleasure than planning the helpful things in life. As a neighbor he was ever ready to help. He leaves besides his immediate family five brothers and two sisters, namely; John, Walter, Omer and Glenn of Joy and Chancey of Aledo; Emma Thornhill of Davenport, Iowa and Catherine Geesey of Aledo; two grandchildren, Letha and Lawrence Epperly and a large circle of relatives and friends who will ever hold him dear in memory. The funeral services will be conducted at the house Thursday, October 29, at 2 p.m. being conducted by Rev. McNeilly of the Presbyterian Church. Interment will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Millersburg. Editor's Note - H. H. Epperly was a good citizen, conscientious and dependable. In his time he was one of the leading cattle feeders of his community and a man of good judgment. His influence will be missed by the entire community."
