Note:   Obituary: Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, August 7, at 2 o'clock for Mrs. Rose Ann McNeal, 83, wife of John McNeal, who died at her home Friday evening, August 5, after seven weeks illness. Burial in Millersburg cemetery followed the service at the home. Rev. Chester A. Chandler, pastor of the Presbyterian church of Joy, officiated. Mrs. McNeal was a member of that church. She was born in Louisa County, Iowa, March 20, 1855, and was married to Mr. McNeal July 24, 1880. They moved to Mercer County and farmed until 25 years ago when they removed to Aledo. Survivors include, besides the husband; five children, Mrs. Fred Vance of Aledo, Will McNeal of Millersburg, John McNeal of Decatur, Mrs Oscar Johnson of Joy, and Mrs. M. G. Downer of Monmouth; 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
