Note: rried Lydia Blanche Andrews who was 8 months pregnant with Corah. Im not sure to whom the story relates but there was some opposition to the marriage because of a female ancestor who was a flighty piece who married 3 times [ one husband dying on the ship out and remarrying on the same ship], had many grants of land (including in Redfern) and used to dance at the govenor's balls. I cannot find any credance to this unless they referred to the first David Pollock who married Mary Ann Iles. My mother had memories of when they lived at Willis St Arncliffe across the road from her grandparents. Of being up very early in the morning and going to the bakery and falling asleep in the bread bins. She also remembered her grandfather smoked a pipe and would put it in his pocket without extinguishing properly and his pocket smoking and her grandmother slapping the pocket to put the fire out. David died aged 70 of Carcinoma of the Rectum in Liverpool State Hospital and Home. His occupation at the time was baker. He was cremated at Woronora Crematorium. Aunt Jean and Uncle Eric remembered their grandparents living at their home in Willis Street until they got their own place in the same street on the corner. What happened to their home in Baldwin Street? Need to check LTO to find the answers. Uncle Eric said that David always wore a vest and always had a moustache. He also said that David got very involved with Eric when he was in the scouts.
