Note: acob bought his farm from John Shafer (Shaffer) and it was a mile northwest of Carysville, Ohio in Adams Twp. Jacob was a farmer most of his life, except two years when he was mining in California, he came home in 1850 with $3000 and bought a 120 acre farm. He also owned a farm in Shelby Co, Ohio and one in Fayette Co, Iowa. He also had a farm in Clayand Davis Counties in Kansas.
