Note: 2/3/05** Gloria said that Lona retired from Kelly's AFB in SA. That when she worked there while she was married to Houston he was so jealous that she could not be late getting home from putting gas in the car that he would blame here for going somewhere else. **************************** Out lived all siblings. She was in a nursing home for the last few years of her life.
Obit:SAN ANTONIO EXPRESS-NEWS** Lona Katie Polka of Lytle, entered into rest on Tuesday, March 14, 2000 at the age of 88 yrs. Mrs Polka was a member of the Hermann Sons Grand Lodge and St John's Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death on November 1 1998 by her husband, Gene Polka and by one grandson. Mrs. Polka is survived by her children, Mary Loise Davis, James F Anderson and wife Bitsy of Corpus Christi, Loretta Dorfmeister, Joan Crady and husband Joe, and Sharon Cox and husband Howard of Garden City, KS; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held in the Dellcrest Chapel on Thursday, March 16, 2000 from 5:30PM to 9:00 PM. Committal Services for Mrs Polka, along with the cremains of her late husband Gene, will be held on Friday, March 17, 2000 in Sutherland Springs Cem at 1:00PM with Rev Robert Braun officiating, Services entrusted to Dellcrest 2023 S WW White 210/337-4082. ********
