  Mills Dean
  Born 1880 at 618 Massachusetts Ave., Washington, DC
  Parents - Mills Dean - one time president of the District of Columbia Bar Assoc.
 Anna F. Dean Died - May 10, 1967 - after a brief illness at Georgetown Univ. Hosp.
  School - Attended Ben Franklin School, Business High School and Columbia University, NY
  Employment - Went to Manila, P.I. in 1903 as a member of the Bureau of Supply for th US Insular Government. Remained in Manila until 1915. Later became Acting Purchasing Agent. Was on loan for three months to be director General of the Manila Carnival in 1915.
  Was in Bogota, Columbia for 7 years as Special Accounting Agent for New York City Bank of the Americas
  Was in Havana Cuba for 7 years as head of the insurance office of the General Sugar Company.
  Returned to NYC and formed his own company, the National Electric Heating Co. Patented process for deodorizing soy bean oil.
  In 1939 he came back to Washington DC and was re-instated in Civil Service as Budget Administrator for the US Treasury Procurement Office. During World War II was on loan to the Office of Inter-American Affairs under Nelson A. Rockefeller for which he received a citation for loyal and valued services.
  Returned to the Treasury Dept. after the war as... until his retirement in 1950.
  In 1952 he joined the World Health Organization as a special administrator to reorganize the purchasing dept. of the Pan American Sanitary Bureau. He retired for a second time in 1956.
  Activities - Life Member of St. John's Lodge No. 11, Washington, DC
 Life Member of Eureka - Naval Lodge, Washington, DC Admitted as a Noble of the Mystic Shrine in Almas Temple in 1906 Admitted as a Royal Arch Mason of the Luzon Chapter No. 1 (Philippine Is.) in 1907 Member of Philippine Club where he served as Sec-Treas. for 10 yrs Member of Sycamore Island Club, (Wash. DC) which was organized by his father almost 100 years ago. Member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Georgetown. Choir Boy at St. John's Episcopal Church, Lafayette Square - sang at dedication of the land for the National Cathedral. Survivors -
 Wife - Florence Ris Dean of 2134 Wisconson Ave., NW, Wash., DC Daughter - Mrs. Mildred Dean Hattersley, Canton, Ohio Son - Mills Dean, III, McLean, Va. Three Grandchildren Memorial service Friday, May 12, at 2:00 pm in Oak Hill Cemetary chapel,, Washington, DC
