Notes
a. Note:   She was known to like to dance. She didn't believe in letting others be depressed about things, she could always make them laugh even
when they were at their lowest. Everyone says she was a very good person.
She died of breast cancer at the age of 45.
Her daughter Zelmadene told of a time that her brother Omer Hall came home for a visit. She remembered that he came running down the path
through the woods to the cabin on the creek. As the family set on the
porch they watched Omer running towards the cabin. When Omer rearched the
cabin he jumped up on the porch and started to do a dance. He would
always dance around and act silly for his mother. It always would make
Dora laugh. On his visit this tim he brought a big box of candy with him
so that everone could share it. It was something that kids in the
mountains did not get very much of . It cost money and you just did not
have extra money for candy to be wasted on.
Zelmadene said that her mother was a person that would always go and help the neighbors out when ever one of them became ill. Someone would
come to get her if she was needed. It did not matter what time it was day
or night she would go with them to see what she could do. Sometimes she
would have to walk for miles to get to the person that was sick. That was
the way it was back then because there were no doctors around on the
mountain. If a doctor was needed you had to send for him, or take the
sick or injuried person to town. Also most people did not have the money
 to pay a doctor.
