OBITUARY:
Billie L. Whitmarsh was born April 9, 1932, in Vici, Okla., to Lucile and Byron Joseph Whitmarsh. He passed away October 2, 2009, at Carrollton, Ga., at the age of 77 years, 5 months and 23 days.
Billie graduated from Vici High School and entered the US Navy. He was married to Dovie C. Wilbanks and he continued his career with the Navy. He served his country during the Korean War and the Vietnam War and retired from the Navy after thirty years of service. After he retired, Billie lived in Virginia Beach and Canute, Okla., before moving to Carrollton in 1989 to make his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers and a sister.
He is survived by his children, Chris Whitmarsh, Bremen, Ga., Brenda Stapelton, Carrollton, Ga., Dianne Whitmarsh, Temple, Ga., Ricky Whitmarsh, Temple, Ga., Tommy Whitmarsh, Ga.; one brother, Jimmy Whitmarsh, Pampa, Texas; 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
