She was very embarrased of her appearance after the surgery and was very sad. She lived her final years at Hillcrest Home near Geneseo Illinois. In her youth she and her sister Lydie entertained other young people in the community. They had a lot of fun, according to the newspaper clippings. The Lindblads would convince the grandchildren (Esther, Harold, and Reuben Cask, John Lindblad, and Forrest Hanson), that Santa was on the roof on Christmas Eve with an elaborate system of bells and hoof sounds on the roof. Ingrid remembers sitting on her lap in her rocker, and trying to stretch her arms around Aunt Nora's middle to hug her. A very sweet, devout, and loving woman.
Note:   Aunt Nora was a surrogate grandmother to Ingrid Johnson Hook. She made Pult "blood pudding
