Note: obituary CHARLES KRIPLEAN IS KILLED IN CAR AND TRAIN ACCIDENT Charles Kriplean, 36, Sussex, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Krip- lean of Medford, was killed Thurs- day, July 3, in an automobile ac- cident occurring about a mile south of Sussex. Funeral services were held Monday, July 7, at Medford, with Fr. Gregory Reuter officiating. Burial was in Medford. The deceased man's car and a Soo line passenger train collided at a crossing on highway 164 about 9:45 in the morning. The train was proceeding north and Mr. Kriplean was driving west. It is believed that some trees and nearby farm buildings prevented him from seeing the approaching train. He was born in Medford Feb.12, 1905. He spent his life in the city until 10 yeas ago when he en- tered the employment of the Gold- en Guernsey Dairy company of Milwaukee. He worked his way up from mechanic to assistant foreman in the dairy garage. The last few years he was a frequent Taylor County visitor. He traveled to a large extent, taking trips to New York, California and Mexico. He was a member of the Catholic church. Survivors include his parents, five brothers, Henry, John, Paul, August and Edward; six sisters, Lena Kranig, Theresa Collins, Mary Brunkalla, Kathryn Hart- wig, Agnes Raddatz and Hannah Pogatetz. Pallbearers were Clarence Kra- ig, Lester Kriplean, Chester Kriplean, Roy Collins, Delbert Zellmer and Donovan Brunkalla. Out of town relatives and friends at the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kriplean of Gladstone, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Hartung, Mr. and Mrs. Herb Raddatz, Mr. and Mrs. Ed- ward Kriplean, Mrs Agnes Zillmer and sons,Bob and Delbert, Roland Eng and Mr. Ritterdorf, all of Milwaukee. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Brunkalla of Laona; Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Kranig, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Kranig, all of Fall Creek; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Collins and son Ray of Brantwood; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lemke and Mrs. Hanna Feddick of Mosinee; Mr. and Mrs. Henry Genrich of Dorchester; Mr. and Mrs. Tony Kriplean of Colby; Miss Marcella Kriplean of Chicago.
