Census Place Monmouth, Jackson, Iowa Family History Library Film 1254346 NA Film Number T9-0346 Page Number 569B Note: This 1880 census record appears to be the spouse and children of William McMullin. Explanations for the discrepancies are as follows:
-Lousina is a incorrect spelling for Rosanna.... keep in mind the Irish accent the census taker heard.
-Rosanna should have been about age 59 in 1880. (note: she is listed as a widow)
-Williams and John information matches with earlier census records.
-Frank is listed as a son, so he is probably Thomas F. Mc Mullen age 3 in 1870. The birthplace for his parents don't match.... probably another error.
-Another factor that confirms that this is the correct family is, Rosanna and William have a son George b. in 1849, who trained to be a Blacksmith. He is living in Baldwin a sub district of Monmouth, Jackson, Iowa with his wife and children.

William McMullin, age 49, is listed with his wife Flora R age 29, a daughter Vera age 10 and a son Vinson age 5. William James is working as a wheelwright and born in New Jersey. The record states his parents were born in New Jersey but this is incorrect.
RESEARCH: Note: It appears William James McMullin only married once. He is taking care of his mother in 1880, and then married to Florence in 1888. His mother must have died by 1888.
Note:   DEATH: Death record informants was his spouse, Mrs. Florence Mc Mullin o
