Note: I was born a couple of weeks early. The blast from a V2 strike in north London knocked over a bus two streets away. My Mum was on board, travelling to my (late) Dad's parents' home in Woodford. She went into premature labour. I was born at 18.58 on April 12, 1945 - the same minute that Franklin D Roosevelt died.

A wonderful human being. .je vous souhaite de surmonter cette perte et reste dsole de ne pu avoir fait sa connaissance autrement qu'au travers de ses photographies et sa gentillesse sur flickr... amicalement. A lovely man who made the world a brighter place. I'll miss his wit. I've just heard. My deepest sympathy to you and your family. I am sure that many friends from the group visual echo (comment with images, not words). are feeling very sad, like me, for the loss of . I hope nobody minds that I use his own picture for an echo. What a lovely tribute! Bob's six-word story for his photo was -- now hauntingly -- "My soul is in the sky." I miss him lots. He was a popular fellow Flickrite. I'm another in the long list of people who will really miss Bob's presence in the Flickrworld. I was always happy when he commented, and i loved to roam through his photos. My sympathy goes out to you. I will really miss his witty comments and captions. Thank you for letting us know.
