He enlisted as a substitute for his brother, as a Drummer in Capt Adam Bailey's Co, Col John Bailey's [2nd] Regt commanded by Lt Col Sprout subsequent to 1 Jan 1781; muster roll made up from 1 Jan 1780 to 1 Jan 1782; enlisted 7 Jul 1781; enlistment 3 years. Claim for pension #W721, submitted 23 May 1833. Entered service Pittsfield, MA served 2 yr, 6 mo 1781-2. Harriet Lake claims to be a daughter--Isaac left eight surviving children: Lydia Brown, Lovina Decker, Avis Blodgett, Weathy Sullivan, Amanda Sheets, Anna Phillips, Mehitable Phillips & Harriet Lake.
