When about 4 years of age, she with her mother moved to Missouri, and on February 16th, 1852, was married to I. Hatcher. She leaves a husband and six children to mourn her loss. Died, February 25, 1899, at her home in Salt Springs township after an illness of about one week. Mrs. Isiaih Hatcher, aged about 60 years. The deceased left a husband, four sons and ttwo daughters to mourn her loss, viz: John, of Tulsey (sic) Indian Territory; Will of Oklahoma; Robert of Colorado; Isiaih of Greenwood; Mrs Mollie Smith of Severy, and Miss Olive who is at home. The funeral services conducted by Elder Caldwell, of Fall River, were held Sunday afternoon, at one o'clock. The interment was in Brown's cemetery. The bereaved husband and children have many friends in this neighborhood, all of whom sympathize with them in their loss. This writer has known Mrs. Hatcher for the past fifty years, before she was married to Mr. Hatcher. She professed hope in Christ, August 20 1855, and united with ther Baptist church. She lived, so far as we know, a true Christian life to the end. In closing this, I will say--Let us all be ready for the great change that is before us. _______________________________ Compiler's Note: Mary (Morse) Hatcher's name is shown also shown spelled as "Morris", and a one point her given name is shown as "May". The preponderance of documentation would show the correct maiden name to be "Mary Morse". Perhaps noteworthy is the fact that the 1860 Census for Shoal Creek Twnshp, Newton Co., MO, shows that both Isiaih and Mary Hatcher listed as "persons over age 23 who are unable to read or write".
