Notes
a. Note:   Dr. William Collyns, my grandfather was prominent Dr. of Medicine at Kenton near Exeter, his elder brother, D.D. Rector of Farringdon and Cannon of Exter Cathedral - Charles Palk Collyns - his son, was a doctor at Dulverton and well known in the Counties of Somerset and Devon. Was mentioned by Karslake and White Melville, the leading novelists of the day. Author of, "The Chase of the Wild Red Deer"; his sister married Rev. John Sydenham' Lord of the Manor of Dulverton; a very old family and mentioned in the history of Somerset in 1340 as Sherif of the County.
Charles Palk had 8 children, 2 survived - your uncle John Bridge Collyns and your father W.B. Collyns, after death of these your brother William will be head of this branch, so you have plenty of scope to make a name for yourself.
  (W.B. Collyns, Jan. 1906).
