a. Note:   After the birth of Jesse, the family moved to Louisiana - three miles east of Orange, TX, near Grandpa Vincent's home. Moved back to Orange Co. when Alice was three months old - by a barge owned by Tean Mitchell, towed by tug (Fanny) Capt. Tom Davis in charge. Located near old Sam Burgess home on east end of Duncan Wood, remained until following year. In October of 1880 moved to Prarie View Settlement; present location of old home site. House was moved from first location to Prarie View, another large house was built, foundation was laid last of August 1896; house completed except minor finishing. Moved in this home Aug 9 1897. Moved one month less one day prior to a severe storm (Sept 8 1897). This home burned Nov 5 1912.
