Note: s an officer in the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-71. When he left the reserves he was a captain in the office in Euskirchen. Wilhelm at first managed Burg Blessem as a farmer with his sister Hubertine and later Roemerhof which he later acquired when his brothers and sisters had married. In addition he was the local director of the local department of the agricultural association for Rhine Province in Euskirchen. Wilhelm gave up his business in 1894 and sold the Gut Roemerhof to the Baron von Bleichroeder in Berlin and moved with his wife to Lechenich. The couple had no children.
