Note: ultural academy in Poppelsdorf. After his father's death he took over the lease of Burg Bodenheim which he managed with its property. Franz visited relattives twice in the U.S. In 1893 he brought the first agricultural binder to Germany from the world exhibition in Chicago, an indication of his progressive attitude. He was a member of the Euskirchen Kreistages (local legislature) due to his progressive thinking and strong convictions and held a number of honarary offices in Euskirchen and in agricultural organizations. Family meetings were frequent at the residence, he helped his brothers and sisters in emergencies and provided advice. When his younger brother Carl returned with his family from America in 1890 he helped him obtain the lease on Rittergut Bovenberg. He also helped his cousin Fritz Brabender obtain the lease on M�lheimer Burg near Wichterich. Returning home from a hunt, Franz †suddenly.
