a. Note:   Dan Skeans was the son of a Methodist preacher in Kentucky, who moved his family, first to Oklahoma and then to the Texas Valley. He was a realtor. Dan Skeans died in Valley Baptist Hospital in Harlingen, Texas, and is buried at Roselawn Cemetery in McAllen.
