Note: Eleanor Frances Gross Bowman recalls: Eleanor took Margaret to Florida to see her daughter Peggy when Peggy was reportedly ill. Eleanor drove her daughter Judy and Margaret to Florida for vacation. Margaret wanted to see reptiles and snakes and Judy wanted to see monkeys and Cape Canaveral. They toured Cape Canaveral and found it most interesting and memorable. Eleanor flew Margaret and her neice Marlene to Hawaii for vacation when Margaret was in a wheel chair. Marlene and Margaret could not agree on what to do or see. Margaret made her living cleaning the Ross G. Walker funeral home and emptying the homes of deceased folks for their children. When she travelled she evaluated every restaurant and motel on its cleanliness. Margaret was married to Jay Thomas, who really enjoyed having Eleanor and her family visit. He would always offer a meal and have Margaret go to the "company store" for food. Margaret did not like to cook. Walter J. Herford, Margaret's third husband, didn't care for her children and would not permit Mary Eva to move in with them into his house. Margaret lived with Joseph Schall in later years. His SS 176-09-5543 born 02/12/02 died 07/04/80.
