Note: Went by C.H. Hutto most of the time; friends called him Howard but his name actually was Charles
Howard Hutto. After moving to Ridgefield, Howard worked as a Deputy Sheriff in Clark County (Mom still has his gun). Ida operated a general store about three miles south of Ridgefield (groceries, gas, etc.). Mom graduated from Ridgefield High School.
Howard's funeral services were held at the Vancouver Funeral Chapel with Rev. Lloyd Allen officiating. Paul Bearers were: Walter Stevenson, H.C. Cornell; J.C. Bagley; Wallace Hall; T.V. Layne and G.T. Bemis. Mom said he had heart problems and that was the cause of his death. Ida had both heart and kidney problems and died about one year earlier; both died when they were 60 years old.
