Thanks for writing, the information I have is as follows:Jesse Ginn, Jr. & Tabitha Brewer had two children, Milissa Anne Ginn & Apoline Ginn. Melissa Anne Ginn married John Willian Cowan.(Son of Samuel Cowan) One of their daughters was Apoline Cowan, born April 17, 1850. She married James Sanford Downs. James Sanford Downs & Apoline Cowan (Puss) had 9 children, my grandfather was Edward Emerson Downs (child 7).

Jesse Ginn was married twice.By his first wife,name unknown,he had the following children:Edmund,Moses, Strauder/Strother,Jane,Martha"Patsy",Sarah,Querlis,Happy and Anna. He was a widower by 1820 and married Tabitha Brewer 1824/25 while living in Franklin Co.,TN.They had the following children: Jesse Jr.,Apaline,Melissa Ann,Caroline,Mary E., William,Jackson and Rueben. Probate Records in St.Clair Co.,AL clearly list all the above children and spouses of most. I am the gg granddaughter of Mary E. Ginn (d/o Jesse and Tabitha)who married Thomas Housley Cox in 1849 in St.Clair Co.,AL. I would be glad to exchange info.Please e-mail me "off the boards."

Subject: YO, guess who... I did a search in ancestral file for GINN in Alabama..two girls came up...and BOTH of them were married to COWAN brothers... The Cowan line goes to South Carolina.... with all the Cowan matches...I find that VERY interesting... Melissa GINN married William cowan in 1845 at St Clair, Co. AL, and Samuel Cowan married Appeline GINN, also in 1845 in Alabama..at St Clair. Samuel and William were sons of David Cowan and Polly or Mary Garrett David Cowan was from Laurens, South Carolina...
