We were talking about Translyvania Ginn -- my sister and I KNOW Grandma Melton used to talk about her, and not being a common name, I am sure she is the one she talked about. And, it WAS one of my grandmother's grandmothers.
My sister was trying to see if she could find anything more about her, and came across that name, by going to some records related to her. She found the place where there was a person with the given name of Translyvania whose parents were a Princess & a Duke. So she says she is going to assume we are related to royalty -- even if we are not! HO. (Sister is a nut, BTW. ho.)
(They were Princess/Duke of Translyvania, but named a daughter that.)
Anyway, what I have on my family tree is: Jesse & Transylvania Ginn, first. Then I have Ruffin Ginn, but I don't have his wife's name. Next is James B. Ginn & Elizabeth (Boatright) Ginn, parents of my G-grandma Pernetta.
Pernetta married (Joseph) Riley McVey. That is my Grandma Melton's parents. My Grandma was Laura Bell McVey and my mother was Nora Melton.
That is the way it is on the Hendrix AND the McVey family sites.
 Later! ANN

 You said
So assuming this other researcher and her family are remembering correctly that their grandmother's grandmother was named Transylvania, it is probably true that Ruffin Ginn was the son of Elisha and Transylvania.
 End
OK - let's take that as a working hypothesis. Ruffin was born in 1788. The next child I have recorded for Elisha and Trasylvania is Elitha in 1799. Then there are two more in a hurry and that is that.
I think that if this is true with Ruffin, then most likely Isaac, Sherwood, Jesse and Wiley are Elisha and Transylvania's as well.
 What do you think?
Do you have a birth date for William aka Thomas?
 Michael
