Note: Sunday, Feruary 25, 1979 Herald-Press, Huntington, Indiana HOOVER, CLAUDE M. Claude M. Hoover, 78, 546 Court Street, died at 11:15 a.m. Saturday at the Huntington Memorial Hospital where he had been admitted Friday evening. A lifelong Huntington County resident, he had been in the trucking business since 1921. He founded the Hoover Trucking Company in 1930, retiring in 1970. Mr. Hoover was born September 10, 1900, in Lancaster Township, to Charles and Rilla (Hosler) Hoover. His first marriage was to the former Cora I. Wamsley on April 17, 1920, who died January 15, 1954. His second marriage was to the former Marjorie E. Faulkner on December 19, 1966. She preceded him in death February 6, 1978. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Jesse (Louise) Herrick, Huntington; Mrs. Ralph (Mae) Bieghler, Huntington; Mrs. Fred (Maridean) Converse, Huntington; and Mrs. Jack (Janet) Kahn, Andrews; three sons, Charles D. Hoover, Huntington, James M. Hoover, Colorado Springs, CO, and Herbert L. Hoover, Huntington; three stepsons, Larry Faulkner, Bridgeport, CT, Paul Faulker, Columbia City, and Earl Faulker, LaOtto; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Marlene Carrouthers, Atlantic Beach, FL; 18 grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Ruth Wamsley, Huntington, Mrs. G. John (Lucille) Truitt, Huntington, Mrs. Zelma Golden, Waynedale, and Mrs. Fern Young, Huntington; and two brothers, Mark Hoover, St. Petersburg, FL, and Max Hoover, Huntington. Friends may call at the Bailey Mortuary on both Sunday and Monday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., where services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday with Rev. Ray Seilhamer officiating. Burial will be in the Lancaster Cemetery. CLAUDE M. HOOVER Services for Claude M. Hoover were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Bailey Mortuary, with Rev. Ray Seilhamer officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Dee Wygant, Dr. J.B. Eviston, William Houghton, Sr., Dr. Ronald C. Poppy, Dr. Robert M. Hafner, and Bill Crago. Active pallbearers included Larry Herrick, Phil Bieghler, Greg Hitzfield, Garry Hitzfield, Steve Kahn, Randy Hoover, and Mike Hoover. Burial was in Lancaster Cemetery.
