Garst, son of Daniel and Fredericka Garst, was born in Naperville, Illinois, April 28th, 1870. On May 13th, 1900, he married Dora Smith. In his boyhood he left Naperville, and spent the greater part of his life in Chicago, California, and Indiana. He died at Ora, Indiana, March 2nd, 1928, after a long, lingering illness. The deceased leaves to mourn his loss, his wife Mrs. John Garst and four sisters, Mrs. William Reed, Mrs. Arthur Kraber, Mrs. Louise Greve, and Mrs. Dan Burnham. Three brothers preceded him to the great beyond, also one sister who died in infancy. He will be remembered by his loved ones and friends as a good man, with good habits, a man who was upright in all his dealings. The funeral was held in Naperville on March 5th, and the burial was in Naperville Cemetery.
