a. Note:   f a sudden it just felt numb as she went to stand up. It gave way and she fell. She broke her pelvic bone and her clavicle. She was in the hospital for a while and then transferred to another for therapy but was not strong enough to do it. She then went to Hoyt Nursing Home in Saginaw, MI where they had a physical therapist but she didn't have the will or energy to do the therapy. One night a few weeks later she rang for the aid to help her to the bathroom. No one came after several rings and 20 minutes so she tried to get up and go by herself. She fell and broke her wrist. The next day she had a stroke which pretty much paralyzed one side of her body. She continued to grow weaker after that and died about 14 months later at the age of 90. She was a very small woman. She was 5 foot 3 inches and about 105 pounds most of her healthy life. She had scoliosis since she was young although it wasn't visible and she had severe osteoporosis as an older women. She also had macular degeneration of the eyes as did her mother. She also had a stroke in one eye a couple years before she fell. She was legally blind after that. When she died she was 4 foot 10 inches and weighed 67 pounds. This wasn't because she wasn't offered enough food she just lost her appetite and slowly wasted away.
